2018-19 Preview: Unleash The Offense

As part of the Black Wolves 2018-19 season preview, we will introduce to different parts of this year’s roster over the next few days. First up is the offense, which features an amazing combination of impressive veterans and young goal scorers. Below you find the stats of our offensive players and a quote about what they bring to the Black Wolves from New England General Manager Rich Lisk.

Adam Bomberry
Had a career-high 14 points on six goals and eight assists in 17 games for New England last season.
“Adam brings an extremely high lacrosse IQ and a tenacity that we love. He had a break-out season with us last year and we are looking forward to what his future holds.”

Kevin Buchanan
Had 26 points on nine goals and 17 assists in just 12 games last season.
“Kevin is one of the best athletes in the league and his physical abilities are tremendous. We are looking for a bounce-back season after he was hurt last year. We need him to return to the Kevin that have two 70-point seasons.”

Nick Chaykowsky
Saw action in eight games with three points and 29 loose balls as a rookie last season.
“Nick was one of our biggest surprises last year. We drafted him and he started on our practice roster. Once he got on the active roster, he couldn’t get out of lineup. He filled a great void for us defensively but also as an offensive transition guy. He can stay and play on the right side. He has great size and a great future.”

Callum Crawford
Had 35 points on 15 goals and 20 assists in nine games for New England last season.
“Callum is the constimate professional. He’s in extremely great shape and a team guy through and through. He wants to win and he will be a catalyst on our offense.”

Tyler Digby
Has 271 career points in 85 games over five seasons.
“He is a huge man. Tyler Digby was brought in here to fill a role for us that I thought we lacked and he will fill it two times. The way he has worked in camp with Callum and Seth Oakes so far is exactly what he want from him. He is a 30-35 goal scorer. He is a force in this league.”

Dereck Downs
Selected 59th overall in the 2018 NLL Entry Draft
“Dereck is going to be the surprise in this draft for us I believe. We drafted him in the fifth round and he had a tremendous camp. He flat-out can score and he showed that this weekend.”

JP Kealey
Selected by New England in the 2017 Draft and saw action in two games with four points
“JP was someone we drafted and I’m glad that he had the fortitude to stick with us. He steps into that number two or number three role. We have big plans for JP this year.”

Stephan Leblanc
Had 70 points on 25 goals and 45 assists last season with the Black Wolves
“Stephan was picked up last year and he is arguably one of the best offensive guys we have. He can score, quarterback, hit and fight. He is an absolute five-tool guy on the floor.”

Seth Oakes
Has 29 career points in 20 games
“We always thought Seth Oakes could be a weapon in this league. His poise and his lacrosse IQ is great and flat-out that kid can shoot the ball. I expect 25-30 goals from Seth this year.”

Reilly O’Connor
Had 43 points on seven goals and a career-best 36 assists last season.
“Reilly is a true leader on this team. The one thing I love about Reilly is that he never stops wanting to learn and working to improve his game.”
