Andrew Kew Returns for Year Two

UNCASVILLE, CT. (July 19, 2020) – It has been announced today that Andrew Kew has been signed to a one-year deal with the Black Wolves. Kew was drafted by New England as the third overall pick in the 2019 NLL Entry Draft.
 
Per team policy, no details were released.
 
“Andrew had a great Rookie season and we are excited to have him under contract for next year,” general manager and head coach Glenn Clark said. “He adapted well to the NLL game and we expect continued improvement and growth moving forward.”
 
Kew returns to New England after a successful rookie campaign where he concluded the season as a Rookie of the Year finalist and earned a spot on the NLL All-Rookie Team. 
 
For the 2019-20 season, the Oakville, ON native finished with 15 goals, 27 assists and 42 total points. This placed him second on the team in assists, third in points and fourth in goals. Among other rookies in the league, this placed him third overall in goals, tied for first in assists and second overall in points. Kew also scored five powerplay goals which ranked him second amidst all rookies.
 
During the off-season, the University of Tampa graduate competes for the Chesapeake Bayhawks of the MLL. Last season, the then rookie, scored the game-winning goal in overtime to secure the team’s sixth MLL Championship. The Bayhawks and Kew, alongside Black Wolves teammate Nick Chaykowsky, faced off on Saturday, July 18th in Annapolis, Md. in the season opener. Kew scored a team-high six goals and tallied one assist. The team will compete against the New York Lizards at 1pm today on ESPN2.
