UNCASVILLE, Conn. (October 9, 2018) – The New England Black Wolves will celebrate their fifth year in the National Lacrosse League with a new home announcing team and a high definition broadcast streamed live and on-demand on “Bleacher Report Live.”
Brendan Glasheen, who served as the voice of the NLL Twitter Game of the Week in 2018, will handle play-by-play chores during broadcasts from Mohegan Sun Arena this season. He will be joined by New England Lacrosse Hall of Famer Jack Piatelli, who will provide color commentary.
Robyn Brown, the courtside reporter during Connecticut Sun broadcasts on NBC Sports Boston and Fox 61/CW20 during the 2018 season, will report from the sidelines.
“I am very excited to be a part of the New England Black Wolves organization,” Glasheen said. “The franchise is coming off a third straight postseason appearance, and has promise to make another deep run in 2018-19. I look forward to working with Jack, the entire production team and the coaches and players. We will have a lot of fun and build a rapport with Black Wolves fans.”
Glasheen is also a studio host for various programs on DraftKings TV, and he has worked for LAX Sports Network, calling Major League Lacrosse games while also acting as the voice of the Colonial Athletic Association Men’s Lacrosse Game of the Week. Additionally, he has worked for the ACC Network, ESPN 3, and has called the action for Holy Cross football and men’s basketball and minor league baseball.
Piatelli is a 1986 graduate of Springfield College, where he was a captain and All-American selection in his senior year. He went on to play four seasons in the NLL with the former Boston Blazers franchise, and was also an analyst on Division I college lacrosse broadcasts with Comcast Sports, and for the Boston Cannons of Major League Lacrosse. A 2011 Springfield Athletics Hall of Fame inductee, Piatelli was selected as the 19th best player, male or female, to come out of New England by New England Lacrosse Journal.
“I loved playing box,” Piatelli said. “It was some of the best experience I had as a player. I’m excited to get back in the box, call the games and get to know the players coaches and fans. Obviously, I’m looking forward to working with Brendan and the production team at Mohegan Sun Arena. I can’t wait to get started.”
As a result of a partnership with Turner Sports’ new streaming service, Bleacher Report Live, the NLL will stream live and on-demand games during the 2018-19 season.
