Black Wolves Announce Roster For 2017 Season

UNCASVILLE, Conn. (December 20, 2016) – The New England Black Wolves of the National Lacrosse League have set their roster for the 2017 season.

The Black Wolves will be anchored by a core of returning veterans, including reigning NLL Goalie of the Year Evan Kirk, and bolstered by a group of newcomers.

Among the returning veterans, Kirk will look to build on a year in which he led the league with a career-high 620 saves. He is joined by two-time league MVP Shawn Evans, who led the Black Wolves in points (118), goals (50) and assists (68) in 2016, as well as Kevin Crowley, who had a single-season career high 90 points. Also back in 2017 are Pat Saunders, Kevin Buchanan, Kyle Buchanan, Brett Bucktooth, Sheldon Burns, Ryan Hotaling, Brett Manney, Bill O’Brien, Zac Reid and Derek Suddons.

Newcomers to New England will be NLL veterans Jay Thorimbert, Chad Culp and Scott Self, all of whom signed free agent contracts with the Black Wolves during the offseason. They are joined by 2016 NLL Entry Draft selections Seth Oakes and Doug Jamieson along with free agent signee Matt Spanger and second-year forward Reilly O’Connor, who was acquired via trade from Calgary.

The Black Wolves, East Division Finalists in 2016, will open the 2017 season in Rochester on January 7th and will return to Mohegan Sun Arena on January 28th against Buffalo at 7 p.m. Season tickets, mini plans and holiday packs are on sale now.
