Black Wolves Fall To Rock In Preseason Matchup

Oakville, Ont. – ​The New England Black Wolves closed out the preseason with a 13-10 loss to the Toronto Rock at the Toronto Rock Athletic Center on Saturday night.
Kyle Buchanan led the way for the Black Wolves with five points on four goals and one assist. Reilly O’Connor added four points while Seth Oakes and Colton Watkinson each had two on a goal and assist apiece.  
Trailing 4-3 after the first quarter on two goals from Kyle Buchanan and one from Adam Bomberry, New England out-scored the Rock 5-2 in the second to take a 7-5 lead into the break. Buchanan and O’Connor each scored twice in the frame and were joined by Oakes.
Joel Coyle and Colton Watkinson each scored in transition in the third to give New England a 9-6 lead. However, the Rock scored four unanswered goals to open the fourth to take a 10-9 advantage. Nick Chaykowsky tied it up for the Black Wolves but Toronto scored three more to seal the victory.
The Black Wolves will open the regular season on Friday, December 8th at home at Mohegan Sun Arena against the Georgia Swarm. Face-off time is set for 7:30 p.m. To purchase tickets, click here.
