The Black Wolves defeated the Swarm 13-12 on Saturday evening, with Tyler Digby picking up the game winning goal with 2:52 to play. The forwarded finished the night with two goals and three assists for five points while Callum Crawford had six points on three goals and three assists and Stephan Leblanc added two goals and two helpers. It was already the second game of the sea­son between the two teams, with Georgia coming out on top 16-12 in the first contest on December 8. The final game between the two franchises during the regular season will take place on February 1 in Georgia.


Despite being held scoreless for the first time all season on Saturday against Georgia, forward Reilly O’Connor tied his career-high with six assists in the win. Prior to that game, he had scored a career-high four goals in the two pre­vious games (Saskatchewan on December 28 and at Calgary on January 12). He has 11 goals on the season to go along with 11 assists for 22 points.


Against Georgia, Alex Buque once again went all 60 minutes and picked up his second victory with the club. He recorded 37 saves, including 11 in the third quarter and nine in the fourth. He has a goals against average of 11.50 in two games and a save percentage of 76.5 on the year.


Last season, the Black Wolves were swept 3-0 in the season series against the Bandits, suffering losses on February 9, March 23 and March 31. Stephan Leb­lanc led all current Black Wolves in the season series, scoring three goals and dishing out 13 assists. The Bandits are 4-1 on the season prior to Saturday’s game at Rochester and former New England forward Shawn Evans is tied for the league lead in points with 37 (11 goals, 26 assists) through five games. His 26 helpers is tops in the NLL, followed by teammate Josh Byrne.
