Black Wolves Still Alive In Playoff Hunt

Despite the loss Saturday in Rochester, the New England Black Wolves are on the brink of returning to the playoffs for the second straight season.

The Black Wolves (8-9) could actually qualify for postseason play before they step on the field Saturday night against Vancouver at Mohegan Sun Arena.

Rochester (6-10) must sweep games from the Georgia Swarm (12-4) at home on Friday night and at Georgia on Saturday to have any chance of making the playoffs. If the Knighthawks lose either game, they are eliminated.

Even if they sweep, the Knighthawks need help.

New England and Toronto (8-9) can clinch playoff spots by winning. Because New England has a 2-0 record head-to-head with Toronto, it will earn the higher seed if the two teams finish with the same record.

If all three teams finish 8-10, New England would be the second seed because its combined record against Rochester and Toronto is 4-2. Rochester (combined 3-4 against Toronto and New England) would be the third seed while Toronto (2-3) would be eliminated.

If New England finishes as the second seed, it will host a home playoff game on Sunday, May 7th at 1 p.m. at Mohegan Sun Arena.

Next home game: Saturday, April 29th @ 7:00 p.m. | GET TICKETS
