Black Wolves Trade Kirk For Bold

UNCASVILLE, Conn. (August 1, 2017) – The New England Black Wolves announced today that they have traded goalie Evan Kirk to the Saskatchewan Rush.

In exchange, New England receives the No. 8 overall pick in the 2017 NLL Entry Draft as well as a second round pick in the 2018 NLL Entry Draft and Aaron Bold and John LaFontaine.

Kirk, the 2016 NLL Goalie of the Year, saw action in 70 games for the franchise over four seasons, compiling a record of 26-32 while picking up 2,385. His 676 saves in 2017 were a franchise record, eclipsing his previous record of 620, set in 2016.

In 2017, Bold compiled a record of 11-4 in goal for the Rush, stopping 565 shots with a goals against average of 11.22. In 12 NLL seasons, he has 3,776 saves in 179 career games. A three-time member of the NLL All-Pro Second Team, Bold has a career mark of 71-39 in goal.

LaFontaine saw action in 15 games for the Rush in 2017, picking up five points on one goal and four assists. The transition player also scooped up a career-best tying 39 loose balls while causing 10 turnovers.
