From the Desk of the GM

Hello Black Wolves Fans!

I wanted to write and give you a quick update on our 2017-18 training camp.

Moving into week No. 3, we’ll be heading to the Stephen Leacock Sports Center in Toronto tonight from 9:30 pm-11:30 pm, and then Sunday morning from 8:00 am-10:00 am.  Camp this year has been very, very competitive.  I would have to say that this has been our most competitive camp since moving to New England and I am very excited about what we are seeing so far.  This week the team will be put through some teaching and system work before we get into scrimmages to see these guys compete in game situations.

Last weekend, we had some of our new faces show up to camp and we were pleasantly surprised with the level of skill and professionalism that these young guys brought.  Having these players in camp has definitely raised that competitiveness to another level and certainly has made the coaches’ decisions that much harder.

Part of our strategy in the offseason was to focus on securing players who were athletic and pushed the ball up the field.  This camp is FILLED with those type of players.  Next week, the Black Wolves will be headed to the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena where we will be playing in two exhibition games against the Buffalo Bandits and the Rochester Knighthawks.  This will, no doubt, be a great test to see how these players stack up against other NLL teams and players looking to make their respective teams.  I expect those games will be very exciting and eye opening to watch.

Feel free to take a road trip and come see us!

Once that last week of camp is over, we’ll be sitting down to pick the 2017-18 New England Black Wolves!  So stay tuned for more information and we look forward to seeing everyone on Opening Night on December 8th.
